The Top 50, er… 7

Update 29/03/2011: Top 25 semi-finalists will be posted March 31st. Please check back. But in the meantime… congrats to the top 50!

Well, we’ve waited a whole year for this list and it brings us great pleasure to whittle down to this select group of 50 scripting scribes. Well, actually, there were so many entries this year and the quality was so high, we couldn’t actually whittle it down to just 50 scripts. So we have a few extra quarter finalists to allow our judges more time to ponder these excellent written scripts.

But they won’t last long. From “50″, we shall cull to 25 at the end of this month (March), and then down to 13 (end of April). From there the following month leads up to the Yorkton Film Festival (#YFF11), May 28th, 2011 where we will announce the top 3 winners and present the 2010/11 Writers Block Crystal, iPad and cash to our grand prize winner. We should also mention that the top 13 scripts’ scribes will be invited and accredited to attend YFF and participate in the films, forums and of course, the famous lobster blast!

Some VERY interesting themes and trends this year and our scripts range anywhere from bizaro/non-sequitor to zombies, vampires, werewolves, sincere, historical, funny, sweet, painfully dramatic and traumatic to a lot of stories with angels and Death (the man himself), playing a staring role.

At any rate, we’re excited and rambling when we should be sticking to our mantra. Here they are in no particular order. We give you, the Top 50 Quarter Finalists of 2010/11:
